This documentary unveils the artistic process and portrays the communal energy behind Seniors Rocking, a piece Anna Halprin created with over 50 local seniors from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. By placing the performers in rocking chairs, she enabled everyone to participate. The culminating moment occurs when the dancers leave their rocking chairs and walk hand in hand to the lagoon to send their legacies with the birds to pass on to the next generation. Throughout, what comes through is their vibrant spirit and the power of dance to engage people of all ages.
